Dear friends, welcome to the Department of Public Administration.
Established in 1995 within Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, one of Turkey's long-established universities, the Department of Public Administration began its educational journey by admitting students to regular programs in the 2002/2003 academic year and to evening programs in the 2004/2005 academic year. Throughout our nearly quarter-century history, our department has provided education to thousands of young people at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, and has helped just as many find employment opportunities in various fields, primarily in public institutions. In this journey, we equip our students who choose our department with the skills to build the future of Turkey by offering courses in many areas, from political science to management sciences, from urbanization and environmental issues to legal sciences, both compulsory and optional. In doing so, we act with the awareness that each student is a valuable asset to our department and that learning is not a one-sided process but a reciprocal one. In addition to the academic knowledge we impart to our students in our department, we encourage them to experience diverse academic environments through student exchange programs with universities in many countries around the world, based on reciprocal protocols we have established. Beyond academic activities, we ensure our students spend their time more productively through socio-cultural events and activities, primarily within our university and department.
Our department has a young and dynamic academic staff. While some of our professors have left us to pursue high-level positions in other institutions and universities after making significant contributions to our department, we continue to work tirelessly towards our goals with the younger professors to whom they have passed the torch. Currently, our department, with 2 professors, 6 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, and 4 research assistants, actively strives to fulfill its responsibility in the best possible way to produce, discuss, and transmit academic knowledge to future generations.
As a department, we express our pleasure in welcoming you to our ranks in building the future of Turkey and wish all our friends success.
